TwistedLoops is the creation of Erica, a knitter.
I’ve been knitting since the fall of 2003. It all started as a way to find a hobby that I could do at home. At the time, I’d been taking pottery classes for a few years, and felt that in order to keep progressing I really needed my own wheel. My small house doesn’t really have room for a wheel and the mess it would make, so I started exploring other ideas.
One day I remembered that stashed somewhere in the house, I had a bag with some yarn, a crochet hook, and the beginnings of a scarf from when a friend had tried to teach me to crochet earlier in the year. I found it and then hopped online to search for instructions on how to finish the scarf.
The more I looked around online, the more that I became intrigued with knitting. Knitting blogs were a great source to see all of the interesting work being done. I signed up for a knitting class and another knitter was born.
Since then, my knitting adventures have continued. I’ve been a founding member of Lake County KTog, and had the pleasure of watching it grow from 3 members to over 100, averaging 20 members at each meetup. I’ve aquired yarn at a speed that far exceeds my knitting speed. I’ve introduced several other people to the joy of knitting. It’s really been a wonderful experience.
